Not a Small Fishing Town Anymore?

Town of Lantana Florida

Lantana Florida is a South Florida gem. The town, is in beautiful Palm Beach County and conveniently located between Delray and West Palm Beach. Lantana, which has its roots as a small fishing town, only has a total area of 2.9 square miles. 2.3 square miles of it is land and 0.6 square miles of it (21.31%) is water according United States Census Bureau.

However, this small town is about to get a lot bigger with the new redevelopment projects underway. Water Tower Commons will be replacing the former A.G. Holley Hospital off Lantana Road and the over 70 acres of property will be split nearly equally for both commercial and residential use. Additionally, the project coined Aura Seaside will be developed on the Cenacle property located off Dixie Highway. This new project has been approved for nearly 250 apartments or condominiums and 10,000 square feet of retail.

As a resident of Lantana as well as a business owner in Lantana (Law Office of Ryan S. Shipp, PLLC), I am looking forward to the  redevelopment in the community. The new housing and businesses that will be added from these undergoing projects, will drive the local economy and help scope the future of this once well known “small fishing town.”
